Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are in formative years.
TIMSCDR has established Institution Innovation Council (IIC) as per the norms of Innovation Cell, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. The creation of IIC at TIMSCDR has initiated a fertile eco-system for innovation. The Institute encourage students to ideate by regular interaction amongst themselves, faculty members, and industry leaders.
After establishing an ecosystem, the Institute focuses on the catalysts to innovation. The gap between the Industry and academic activity is bridged by arranging impactful events that educate and encourage the students to become proficient in state-of-the-art technology. Every TIMSCDR student participates in Synapse – a platform where technology-based projects involving products and services are not only conceptualized, but designed and prototyped.
Every student also writes a technical paper for ICAIM – an annual international conference held at TIMSCDR. We focus on technology that can be leveraged to sustain the environment. The Institute have also developed specialized labs, e.g. IoT Lab, where our students apply classroom learning to live projects. Industry experts are invited to these events and have shown interest in the transfer of technology that has been showcased in TIMSCDR. We also contribute to society by sending our students to teach secondary level school students on current technologies.
The MCA program has an inbuilt scheme of Internship at the final semester. The students work on live projects in the Industry. Internship helps the students to understand business processes and prepares them for corporate careers. TIMSCDR provides various opportunities are provided to the students as well as faculty for Industry interaction for knowledge and skill improvement. Industry interactions also happen through Industry-associated laboratories, in partial delivery of courses where faculty are trained by industry experts on courses selected by the Institute and at the internship opportunities provided to the students. Furthermore, to ensure participation of professionals from the IT industry in the Institutional activities, they are invited to be members of the Advisory Board. Over and above the mandatory Industry Interaction by the way of internship, an array of activities is organized throughout the year – ensuring that there is a healthy and sustained Industry interaction throughout the year. Events like Vista (Technical Fest), DLLE (Life Long Learning through participation in Social events) foster the innovative spirit amongst our students.
The Institute has an Entrepreneurship Cell – Ayan to foster the entrepreneurial spirit amongst students. As a part of Entrepreneurship Cell, the Institute is conducting various activities such as Entrepreneurship-Week, Business Mela, Startup Summit, Guest Lectures on Innovation, Entrepreneurships, Startups and IPR etc.
