Intellectual property plays important role in providing a competitive edge to any Institution. The tangible assets like inventions, designs, software, brand name and other creative & innovative ideas are more valuable than physical assets.
The IPR Cell of TIMSCDR is committed to encourage, protect, manage and commercialize Intellectual Property such as Copyright, Patent, Trademark etc. generated through the Institute. The cell creates conducive environment in the academics for the development of Intellectual Property. Faculty members of TIMSCDR are actively participating in the IPR filing process and motivating the students for the creation of IPR.
Types of IP
The intellectual properties can be broadly listed as follows:
- Copyright: is an exclusive right given to the author of the original literary, architectural, dramatic, musical and artistic works; cinematograph films; and sound recordings. TIMSCDR had received the following Copyrights in its credit:

- Patent: is an exclusive right granted for an invention, which is a product or a process that provides a new way of doing something, or offers a new technical solution to a problem.
- Trade/Service mark: means a mark capable of being represented graphically and which is capable of distinguishing the goods or services of one person from those of others and may include shape of goods, their packaging and combination of colours.
